Year after year, the legendary German carmaker seeks to distinguish itself from the competition by either presenting something completely new or pushing the boundaries of its existing lineup through technological and design innovations. Over a decade ago, BMW created the Sports Activity Coupé class with the X6, combining the format of a Sports Utility Vehicle with the sweeping lines from a coupé. The model was a success, seducing over 443,000 owners worldwide. Now into its third generation, this unique car is slightly larger and sits lower than the outgoing model. An advanced TwinPower 3.0 inline-6 turbocharged engine is found under the hood of the xDrive40i model, delivering 335 hp at 5,500-6,500 rpm, and 330 lb-ft of torque at 1,500-5,200 rpm – more power than the outgoing model. And if that wasn’t enough, the powerful M50i model packs a punch with a dual twin-scroll turbocharged 4.4L V8 to send it flying to 100 kph in only 4.3 seconds.
