The 20th edition of Art Basel Miami Beach is expected to be the biggest one ever as it celebrates its jubilee this year. There will be 282 exhibitors representing 38 nations and territories at the Miami Beach Convention Center from December 1 to 3 . Rethinking historical narratives and viewpoints, the influence of ideology, the human form, textiles and violence are resounding themes from this year’s selections.

A leadership change also occurs this year with Noah Horowitz (formerly the Director of Americas) taking over as CEO of Art Basel succeeding Marc Spiegler, the fair’s global director since 2012.
The show will have a total of nine sections at the fair. The first, Galleries, is the largest of the group and features a variety of artwork, from masterworks from the 20th century to pieces by contemporary artists, while Positions and Nova highlight young galleries and recent works of art. Large-scale sculptures, paintings, live performances, and video installations can all be found in Meridians.

The appropriately named Editions and Magazines sections also concentrate on popular prints, editions, and multiples, as well as a variety of editorial platforms and publishers from around the world. The Conversations area, that’s being billed as a venue for idea exchange and will host 35 speakers over nine panels. Kabinett will give gallerists and curators the space to display thematic group and solo exhibitions while Survey places a special emphasis on galleries displaying work with historical importance.
