I recently conducted a little experiment with a few of my friends in which I asked them which vehicle comes to mind when they hear the word Cadillac. Four out of five said that it was the Escalade that first popped into their imagination. No surprise there, since the Escalade is a class leading SUV with tons of presence, unique looks, and oozes quality and luxury. For 2023 however a new contender has come along to steal some of the Escalade’s thunder; and that would be the midsize XT6 which Cadillac has slotted neatly between the XT6 and the Escalade.

Unique Design language

One thing that Cadillac does so well as is evident in the XT6, is the uniqueness of its design language. When this SUV shows up in your rear view mirrir, you won’t be mistaking it for anything but a Cadillac thanks to its vertical LED lights and angular front fascia. The XT6’s edgy design language can be seen across all of Cadillacs models including SUVs and sedans and it’s truly a love it or hate it affair. I particularly like the central crease line which runs from the front bumper all the way through to the rear bumper.
On the inside the XT6 has a very neat driver-centric configuration. Gone are the clusters of buttons and dials which are replaced with a touchscreen display. However the driver still gets a BMW style rotary knob in the center console which is a safer use option while driving. The real headliner here however is that the XT6 has third row seating, something not very commonly seen in the midsize SUV segment. Sure, it reduces your trunk space significantly however when the third row is not in use the seats can be folded down to retrieve the lost trunk space

Power on demand

Engine options available on the XT six include a 237 hp turbo charged in line for or a 310 hp V6 given the heft and the size of this vehicle I would definitely always go with the V-6 engine given the vehicles weight and size. Both come with a 9-speed automatic transmission and available all-wheel drive. In addition, the V6 powered XT6 is available in three different trim levels; Premium, Luxury and Sport.
