A native of Saint-Pascal, Quebec, a small town not far from Quebec City, Marie-Chloé Duval initially stoked her ambition by drawing inspiration from hard-hitting social issues. Following a move to Montreal, she soon established a studio in the vibrant Chabanel district where she further honed her skills.
Her background in criminology allowed her to gain a deep understanding of the root causes of human conflicts, and the fragile boundaries that keep society together despite often encountering disagreements. The resulting work is rich in emotions but tame enough to spark a conversation.
More than just a painter, Marie-Chloé Duval is a truly versatile visual artist. As an equally avid photographer, she uses the medium prominently on various pieces. In addition, she enjoys performance art where live human connections become the centerfold of her focus.
Today, her studio offers workshops, custom designs, live creation at events, as well as original pieces that are gaining more and more recognition every day. Through hard work and dedication to her art, the DUVAL name has carved itself a reputation that will be praised and admired for many more years to come.
