While Ive always been a big fan of German cars, their performance house variants have always held a special place in my heart. Whether we’re talking about BMW’s M cars, Audi’s S variants or Mercedes-Benz AMG models. The big three German luxury manufacturers have perfected the art of turning their sedans, coupes and SUV’s into screaming sport variants with bigger engines, sport tuned chassis’ and sportier styling.
Based on the brand-new C-class sedan which just made its debut, Mercedes-Benz just gave the world a peek of its all new AMG C63 S E-Performance. While the car’s name is a mouthful, it does offer so much more than the previous C63, while having a smaller engine! Gone is the glorious V8 engine from the previous C63; the new model has a turbocharged four-cylinder (which is found in the C43), and an electric motor for a combined output of 671 bhp and 752 lb ft of torque, making it more powerful and faster while being more efficient and polluting less. How’s that for engineering mastery? In fact, AMG claims that the C63 will accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds! So there it is; proof that you can have better performance, more acceleration and overall more fun thanks to the combination of intelligent engineering and the addition of an electrified powertrain which uses both, an electric motor and a (smaller) internal combustion engine.
The exterior of the new C63 is a stunning blend of class and sportiness. AMG’s designers took an already well-proportioned, attractive exterior design and turned it into a more aggressive looking beast. Lowered, with larger rims, AMG specific side-skirts, front and rear aprons and bumpers just the right combination of air inlets and outlets, the C63 looks the business! On the inside, AMG takes the already very well designed and efficient C-Class interior and turns it into a properly driver centric sport sedan’s interior. AMG seats, trim and a much beefier steering wheel are a few of the new features inside the C63, as it Alcantara and more exclusive leather finishing.

Overall, I truly think that the new AMG C63 has given the likes of the BMW M3 and Audi S4 a far more potent adversary to do battle with. As for how it drives, as well as pricing and optional equipment, you’ll have to find out for yourself by booking an appointment with Mercedes-Benz West-Island to see for yourself.
