In just a few weeks, electric car pioneer Tesla will be delivering its first batch of Model Y to customers around the world. Produced in a five- or seven-passenger seating configuration, the luxury compact crossover can deliver a range of up to 507 km (according to EPA estimates). Pushing the boundaries of technological excellence, the Tesla Model Y dares to challenge the status quo.
Without a doubt, the Tesla Model Y impresses. Featuring an all all-glass tinted roof, LED fog lights, premium sound, and a full touchscreen user interface, it is remarkable inside and out.
Tesla rarely disappoints in driving experience. When equipped with its dual-motor AWD Performance package, the Model Y is capable of a 0-60 mph acceleration of just 3.5 seconds, and a top speed of 150 mph (241 kph).
Vegans, rejoice! Multiple sources confirm that Tesla CEO Elon Musk is committed in making the Model Y 100% leather-free.
Competition will be tough in this segment. The Audi e-tron and Mercedes-Benz EQC are already fighting for a piece of the pie. Not to mention, gas-powered options such as the Mercedes-Benz GLB are also worthy contenders. But with a growing network of nearly 16,000 Tesla Superchargers worldwide, choosing a Model Y might not be all that difficult.
