Floating luxury

Few things scream “Luxury” like a beautiful yacht. If you’re a fan of James Bond, you may have a particular water vessel in mind, the stunning wooden hulled boats like the Aquarama, a favorite of the likes of Sophie Loren, George Clooney and Jude Law. This stunning classic run-about can be seen in numerous Hollywood hits and Yacht clubs the world over for those who have the most immaculate taste.
Since its early days, Riva has grown from being a producer of small-ish wooden hulled run-abouts, to some of the most stunning and extravagant yachts, particularly in the open and flybridge segments, typically ranging in length from 15 to 50 meters. The Riva brothers founded their first boat-building yard on the stunning Lake Iseo in Sarnico in northern Italy. It has grown to being a modern luxury yacht builder with multiple shipyards, all located in Italy. In May 2000, Riva was acquired by the Ferretti Group, a recognized world class player in the Luxury Yacht market. The additional expertise and investment from its larger parent company elevated Riva even further to where it is today; still a builder of stunning wood-hulled run-abouts, but also a builder of super-luxurious mega yachts.

Aquariva Super – Timeless Beauty

My personal favorite is the Aquariva Super, an impossibly elegant, sleek wood-hulled run about which I would be so bold as to say is probably the Ferrari of the sea. The Aquariva’s good looks don’t end with its hull lines, but also give a taste of true Italian craftsmanship and elegance on the inside. This sports-car equivalent on water has a lounge area with a gorgeous crescent shaped sofa, and a small interior bedroom at the front of the boat.

Folgore – Thunder on the horizon

On the larger and um.. more expensive side is the Folgore, a stunning, ultra-modern looking super yacht with a length of almost 30 meters, yet a look and profile that makes it look fast even while it sits still in water. Designed in partnership with Officina Italiana Design. Replete with an interior living room, dining area, several cabins including a master and a VIP cabin as well as several guest cabins, this is truly indulgence in luxury at another level.
