What do we worry about when it comes to physical appearance as we age? Is it being overweight? Having deep lines and wrinkles seemingly appear overnight? Going through hair-loss or having our hair thin out so significantly that it can barely even be styled or combed? The answer is probably all of the above, but also likely to be in different degrees depending on who you ask. While some of us worry more about hair loss, others still will care far more about maintaining a healthy weight. Luckily, and thanks in no small part to science as well as personal initiative to take good care of our bodies, many of these inevitable conditions are manageable. Nutritionists, healthy diets and exercise will abate most weight-related image issues, while a healthy skin-care routine and self-care can almost guarantee more radiant and healthier looking skin. As for hair loss, sure, there are quite a few medications and treatments out there that can help to prevent or even somewhat maintain hair density. However, when it comes to gaining back your hair, there are innovative medical procedures that can turn the tide for you, whatever your gender, and however bad your hair loss may be.

Q&A with Dr. Jeff Epstein
Please tell us about your practice. What do you specialize in?
I specialize in providing natural-looking, quality hair restoration results through medically-backed and innovative procedures. My practice is one of the few in the industry that upholds “no-shave” and non-invasive procedures while still achieving the premium targets of growth and aesthetics. People often come to me either from the medical field themselves or the general public for quality procedures and corrections of their botched operations from international cosmetic ‘practices’.
Dr. Jeff Epstein
Where did you start up in your career?
During medical school, I was fascinated by the aesthetics of facial plastic surgery and there was an amazing fellowship that my advisor recommended. During the fellowship, I found facial hair restoration and became completely enamored by it. The research was fascinating and I had natural precision in my technique, so I decided to devote the rest of my life to it.
Is your treatment for men and women, or is it mostly men who seek this treatment?
I provide hair restoration and aesthetic treatments for both men and women. Women often come to my practice for both eyebrow and hair transplants, and hairline lowering. I specialize in the FUE technique, which is follicular unit extraction - basically, it takes hair and places it at the new region for a full "thick" look. They come to me for no-shave procedures like that.
How is your practice/treatment better than others? What makes you different?
For aesthetics and hair restoration, a lot of people don't understand the lack of quality assurance and accountability in this industry abroad. People will travel across the world to get aesthetic operations at a cheaper price and return with scalp scarring and botched operations that can last a lifetime. Why? Because there's a lack of quality education and regulation. My practice is devoted to medically-backed techniques, premium standard safety practices, and patient-centered care. We offer "no-shave" techniques that have been carefully curated to produce natural-looking results without the risk of physical harm. As an educator in my field, I advocate for safe and quality hair restoration practices internationally, as well as perform operations at my office in Coral Gables, Florida.
Is hair transplant treatment a more effective and permanent operation than medications such as rogaine?
Oh, absolutely. While medical therapy is a preventative measure to help stop or slow down hair loss, hair restoration offers a far-more permanent solution and creates the visual of a full head of hair in a rapidly reduced timeline. It also restores the hair lost to balding over the years, unlike medications that simply resolve the ongoing balding issue.
Does this treatment require a follow-up visit?
Not required, though we typically recommend checking in to monitor hair regrowth and ensure your satisfaction. A lot of our clients come from all over the world, so it's important to me that we maintain an active dialogue and monitor progress.
