Kaizen. It is the Japanese word for “continuous improvement”. As a core value of Toyota, it challenges every single aspect of the organization to innovate and evolve. Evidently this philosophy is carried over to their luxury division, Lexus. The proof is in the LC 500; no car has ever achieved this level of perfection. But then, there was the Convertible.
A gorgeous work of art on its own, the LC 500 Convertible retains the equally sublime handling characteristics of its hardtop sibling. Powered by a throaty 5.0L V8 workhorse, the car bends the mind with blistering performance and a shiver-inducing growl. In addition, exterior proportions are simply impeccable and enhance its sleek side profile. The soft fabric roof retracts in just 15 seconds or returns to its closed position in 16. Meanwhile, the interior is graced with semi-aniline premium leather surfaces, and infotainment is delivered on an advanced 10.3 inch display with Apple Carplay and Android Auto capability.
As in the previous years with the LC 500, there will be a limited edition Inspiration Series. Only 100 units are produced. It will feature a special Structural Blue paint, matched with white leather upholstery, exclusive blue canvas roof, and greyed out exterior trim details.
Lexus has, over the years, made history with several notable touring coupés. From the extremely exclusive LFA to the timeless grace of the SC, the marque embodied Kaizen philosophy at its finest. While the world today calls the LC 500 perfection to nearly unanimous acclaim, one can only wonder:
What’s next?
